Russell has an extensive safety program which includes, detailed driver selection criteria, comprehensive qualifications for new drivers, and close monitoring of owner operator and their equipment.

Russell's concept is that safety has precedence over expediency or short cuts. Everyone is expected to demonstrate an attitude that reflects this policy. Open communication, comments and criticisms on safety issues are encouraged, and where appropriate, implemented into company safety policies. The company acknowledges that safety provides a means for profitability, customer satisfaction and employee gratification.
